He gets to checking both. One is an ordinary gem, the other... Is not.

There is another half to it, he can tell, but when he tries to locate it, it's - he flinches back, blinking and trying to clear his vision. That was the most spectacular failure of a scry he has ever seen. Briefly. Before he was momentarily blinded. Okay. The other gem is unaccountable, and also, ow.

"Is Jane in Milliways?" he asks, on a hunch, rubbing his eyes.

"Wherever she is, I can't scry it. That's what that dramatic flinching was."

"That is likely it," he agrees. "I might be able to find the other gems if I'm sneaky, though, even without tracing them back to the source.

He does tricksy things. They are so very tricksy. The ticksiest, in fact.

"Ha. I am very clever. I think I found your other mommies. They're all pretty far away, but one's closer than the others. Want an illusion of her?"

"They mostly all looking the same except one who not a her and my own one."

"Maybe figuring which one from clothes or something."

"You have sharing magic?"

"Ah, no. If I have kids, they have it, but I can't get other people magic, unfortunately."

"Wishing it on maybe?"

"I don't know the specifics involved in making wishes, I wouldn't know. It'd be nice if you could, if leading towards causing a social upheaval."
