Pen' was just going to go practice singing. (She likes singing. The words are all lined up for her already and she doesn't get them wrong.) But this doesn't look like the practice room. So it's probably the magic restaurant.

Pen knows about the magic restaurant! You can go in it, and get food or things to drink (she has bracelets!) and then you just go back out the door and it's been no time at all and you're right where you went in.

She goes in. She is going to have cake.

Eeeeee! says Yvae, really only a continuation of what she has been saying in preparation in a slightly louder sound. She flies up to Elasirae, giggling and looking at him. Hi! I'm Yvae! I'm a dragon and I've never met one from another world before!

Procellor snickers, from nearby. I think he's noticed the 'dragon' part, little one.

Maybe if there's a lot of other worlds there's a reverse daddy somewhere? muses Pyranir.

Oooh! Yeah! And he's a human that goes around looking like a dragon! Yvae replies, excited.

Welcome to the world, says the night colored dragon. Our hatchlings are excited, please forgive any rudeness.

Ha! says Pyranir. Mommy says you're rude!

His mother replies, I did not say which of you was being rude.

That gives Pyranir pause. He decides to go cuddle Rose, pouting just a little.

"I've never met a dragon from another world before either," says Elasirae, peering from dragonlet to dragonlet. "Although I have met all of the dragons from my world." He glances at the night-coloured dragon and adds, "None of them are as sparkly as you."

[aestrix]

The lady dragon preens, just a little, at the compliments. Thank you. I do enjoy being unique.

This seems like a good excuse for wing-draping from mate. Yes, she's quite gorgeous, he's very pleased with her! And other suitable mush.

You've met all of the dragons from your world? Yvae asks, incredulously. She has not connected the dots between Rose's earlier words and the actual dragon from that place right there in front of her. If I tried to meet all of the dragons in the world it would take forever! There are a lot of dragons.

"There aren't very many dragons in Thilanushinyel," he explains. "Less than thirty."

[aestrix]

Oooooo.... says Yvae, looking all guilty now. I'm sorry!

Pyranir sulkily pipes up, See? Rude!

Yvae makes a little sad sound, and drops to the floor, drooping her wings. I didn't mean to!

Procellor decides now is the time to interfere. Yvae is scooped up and cuddled. It's alright, little one. We're not graced with good tact from hatching.

Cuddles would ensue. Pyranir decides it's his turn to talk to the strange new dragon!

Hi! he says. Do you like bunnies?

"I don't know," he says, blinking. "I haven't thought about it."

[aestrix]

You should, says the apparently junior member of the bunny appreciation club. They're adorable.

[pythbox]

"They are small," he concedes. "And fuzzy. But there are lots of other small fuzzy creatures and many of them are also adorable. Like poofs!"

[aestrix]

What is a poof? he asks.

[pythbox]

"I haven't seen one, but I've heard about them. They are small and round and fuzzy and they glow and make cute sounds," he says. "They live in a place called the Gentle Cave in a world called Chronicle and they generate an anti-injury field when you pet them. And they're extremely cute."

[aestrix]

I want to see them, declares Pyranir. There is no way that they could be cuter than bunnies.

His mother looks amused. We'll have to see, little one. It'll have to be with permission to visit.

Okay, mommy! But I want to see them eventually.

[pythbox]

"I wouldn't mind seeing some myself," says Elasirae.

[beheld_beauty]

"Chronicle is the world with the Gentle Cave in it, and it's generally amenable to visits. I think the little ones would fit, but I'm not sure about you, Elasirae," says Rose. "It's a small cave with small animals in it."

[pythbox]

"I could become smaller," he suggests. "It would make sense, if I was visiting a small cave full of small animals. Although I would have to get someone to do it for me, because I don't have any appropriate kinds of magic myself."

[aestrix]

Procellor clears his throat, just a little. I believe I could help? I have appropriate kinds of magic.

Look, he'll even demonstrate. The crumpling illusion magic occurs, and then... The once-dragon is now a human! He grins up at Elasirae. He is appropriately sized for gentle-cave excursions! Hurray!

Daddy! Daddy, you need to come, you have to see! They will be cute! says Yvae, recovering from guilt.

Not as cute as - begins Pyranir. He's interrupted by Yvae tackling him to hug. Wings and limbs go everywhere.

...Elasirae peers at Procellor.

"Fascinating," he says. "How do you do that?"

[aestrix]

"Magic," he explains unhelpfully, grinning. "Want to be a human, or the size of my hatchlings?"

[beheld_beauty]

"Would this place Elasirae's size under his own control, or yours?" asks Rose. "If the latter, it might make more sense for myself or perhaps Sarion to enchant him."

[aestrix]

"Mine. If you want to enchant him, you can, I just thought I was the most obvious choice," he replies with a shrug.

[pythbox]

"I think it seems more convenient for me to be able to control it myself," he says. "In case I want to fit into small spaces or interact with small creatures when you aren't around."

[beheld_beauty]

"I imagine Sarion will not mind helping you if you ask her when you go home, then. She has the advantage of not needing a channel. And then you will be able to visit the Gentle Cave or any other smallish locations that struck your fancy."

Elasirae looks pleased. "That will be nice."

Yvae and Pyranir are at last untangled. Pyranir is busy cleaning his wings of dirt from the scuffle, but Yvae wanders up to Elasirae, looking up at him. So... What magic do you have? Mommy and daddy have lots! I bet you can do all kinds of cool things!

"I'm a Thilanushinyel dragon," he says, sitting up straight and curling his tail around his forefeet. "We don't do magic ourselves, although we have a lot."

[aestrix]

Every other dragon in the room stares at Elasirae. Pyranir is the one to break the silence that follows with, Do you just not want to?
