Pen' was just going to go practice singing. (She likes singing. The words are all lined up for her already and she doesn't get them wrong.) But this doesn't look like the practice room. So it's probably the magic restaurant.

Pen knows about the magic restaurant! You can go in it, and get food or things to drink (she has bracelets!) and then you just go back out the door and it's been no time at all and you're right where you went in.

She goes in. She is going to have cake.

"I not know if you troubling. Mommies check."

[aestrix]

"How would they do that? I'm not even sure how I'd get to being troubling."

It should be obvious that this is another lie. He could probably be 'troubling' by stealing the opal in her arm, now that he thinks of it. He'll avoid it, if it means he can go explore. Once he's done, though... He does like shiny things.

[campanas]

"They very magic."

[aestrix]

"What do you mean, very magic?"

Because unless they're dragons in disguise, he thinks he can take them. Possibly all at once.

[campanas]

"They have magics! Kinds and kinds. They do anything."

[aestrix]

"Anything? But you said that they couldn't find another one of me."

The man is a skeptic. He doesn't seriously think they can do anything - he's talking to an angel hatchling. All hatchlings think the world of their parents.

[campanas]

"Okay, not that thing. Most anything."

[aestrix]

"Hm. Could I meet one? I'd like to go exploring other worlds, if I can."

[campanas]

"A Mommy? I guess. I finish cake and show you Belltower?"

[aestrix]

"Sure. That would be fine," he says.

[campanas]

Cake! Om nom nom cake.

[aestrix]

The man eats his own food! He can be somewhat patient, when he gets something he likes. He can go exploring, soon! He'll wait.

[campanas]

Eventually Pen finishes her cake, and washes it down with a glass of milk that she also pays for via bracelet-wave, and then she hops down off the stool and says, "I showing you."

[aestrix]

Grinning broadly, the man scarfs down the last of his pasta, then goes to follow! He's excited. So excited!

If he goes world-hopping, he'll at least let his mate know, first, though. She might be cross with him, otherwise.

[campanas]

She leads him out the back door, looks around, and then heads for the obvious stone tower that sprouts up a short walk from the bar.

"Jaaaane," she says to the tower. "This a person from bar. Wanting go places."

[mind_game]

"A person from the bar who wants to go places, huh?" says a disembodied voice from a roughly towerward direction. "He'll have to clear it with somebell first, they're pretty clear about not wanting to open up on-demand interworld transit to the general public."

[aestrix]

"I don't mind being cleared, first. I'd love to explore new places!" says the man whose name Pen didn't even ask. He is maybe a little bit unsafe for off-world travel, in most cases.

But he certainly doesn't look it. He looks friendly and completely ordinary. It's not like this bar has things that look different from how they actually are, right? Riiiight?

[mind_game]

"Is there some reason any of the Bells ought to consider dropping by to clear him very important, Pen?" Jane asks the little angel.

[campanas]

Pen shrugs. "I dunno. He just ask me."

[aestrix]

"Er. I'm very friendly?" he tries.

[mind_game]

"Well, they're all busy, but one of them may be freed up soon. Where do you want to go?"

[aestrix]

"Some place interesting to see. I'm truly not very picky, something with lovely visuals, I suppose?

[mind_game]

"Are you planning to do anything obviously nonmagical or nonhuman or both while visiting? Some worlds aren't cleared for that yet."

[aestrix]

"I didn't realize that there were rules to go along with these worlds," he says, somewhat annoyed. He's tempted to just reveal himself here and now, and demand what he wants. But he'll try the silver-tongued approach, first. He needs to guarantee a return trip. "But I'll do my best to look especially human."

[campanas]

"Course there rules," snorts Pen. "Not making trouble, I say so before! Some places being magic trouble. Home like that, we not have visitings there, we go other places for visit."
